  • Well done to all who raced at Great Weston on Bank Holiday Monday. A good turn out from the club and particular congratulations to Richard Gould, who finished 2nd, and Ray Clench who won a prize for being the oldest competitor.
  • 43 turned out to to Charlton-on-Otmoor, well done to all, some great performances. Thank you to the people who helped out in marshalling the event, this is vital in assisting Kidlington Running Club and keeping this series going.
  • Please look out for mails requesting assistance with our first race of the season - Charndon 5k - Tuesday 20th May - 7:30pm, your help will be greatly appreciated.

Tuesday Club Night

  • Next Club Night will take placel on Tuesday 6th May., from Bicester Sports Association (Akeman Street, Chesterton. OX26 1TH). Please arrive at 6.50pm for a prompt 7pm start. The sesion is open to all club members, and will be organised by our new coach, Chris Curtis. Please take this great opportunity to improve on your pace and stamina.
  • PLEASE NOTE Please could you park on the hardstanding adjacent to the rugby pitces, that is to the left once you pass through the main gate. The main part of the car park is for the cricket club who meet on the same evening.

Thursday Club Night

  • Next Club Night will take place on Thursday 8th May., from Bicester & Ploughley Sports Centre. Please arrive at 6.50pm for a prompt 7pm start.
  • Summer Handicap - Thursday 15th May 7:00pm - The Plough at Marsh Gibbon. These are short courses (around 4 miles) and have a fun competitive element. All are welcome, including family, and a charge of £5 towards food and raffle. Further details from Gary Warland. There will be NO club run from the sports centre on this evening.

Race Reminders

  • Club XC/MT event: Otmoor Challenge (13.1 miles) - Saturday 7th June
  • Next Club Championship Thame 10k - Sunday 29th June - This is a popular event and fills up quickly, please get your entries in as soon as possible. This will be chip timed for the first time.
Beginner Sessions
  • RUNNING FOR NON-RUNNERS!! Alchester Running Club is growing rapidly and welcomes new members. If you'd like to try running at one of our occasional Beginners Sessons.
  • Beginner sessions all start from Bicester Sports Association, Akeman Street, Chesterton, OX26 1TH, at 7pm on selected date as follows:

Alchester Running Club, based in Bicester, Oxfordshire, was formed in 1999 with the intention of developing road, cross country and trail running in the area, and with the aim of developing the social as well as the competitive aspects of the sport. The name 'Alchester' comes from the old Roman town and fort which was situated just south-west of modern day Bicester, near the village of Wendlebury. We cater for all ages and abilities and meet for our club nights every Tuesday at 6:50pm at Bicester Sports Association, Akeman Street, Chesterton.
