Weekly Update for week commencing 8 March 2008
Posted on March 8th, 2010 No commentsThere were some really good races run by our members yesterday (7th March 10), so don’t forget to click on the Results tab of this website and take a look. http://www.alchester-runningclub.co.uk/?page_id=239
Special congratuations to Andy Stickley in coming 3rd in the Wendover MT, and to John Nelson finishing 3rd V50 male overall in the Oxford Mail XC series. Also, well done to the Alchester men’s XC team for finishing 3rd in Division Two of the series.
Well done to Lucy Read for getting a PB at the Milton Keynes Half Marathon, and to Brigit Mold for a 10-mile PB at Salisbury.
Liz Grolimund, our Road Race Secretary, has done a great article on how to win points (and prizes) for you and the club in the Oxfordshire Road Race Grand Prix. What’s interesting is that you don’t have to be a super-fast runner to gain points – just turning up at the Grand Prix races and running for Alchester will help! See the News post headed “Points Mean Prizes” for more information.
Now the weather is looking more cheerful, it’s great to see so many of us at Club Night at the Sports Centre on Thursdays, and at Pace Improvement at Gavray Drive on Tuesdays. No matter what your speed, there’s a group for you!
Marion Harris, Club Secretary.
